Who We Are.
The Counseling Garden Bloom Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the social, emotional, and mental well-being of children and families through school-connected and community-based programming.
Founded by educator and professional school counselor Vittoria Jackson, M.Ed., Bloom Foundation addresses documented gaps in access to prevention-focused, family-centered supports—particularly for communities disproportionately impacted by trauma, educational inequities, and limited resources. Our work is grounded in evidence-informed practices, cultural responsiveness, and a two-generation framework that supports both children and caregivers.
Why Bloom Exists
Community Need & Rationale
Bloom Foundation was created in response to consistent, documented needs observed in school and community settings: children experiencing behavioral and academic challenges often lack access to preventive mental health supports, while families are frequently expected to navigate complex systems without sufficient guidance or resources.
Through more than a decade of professional practice in public education, our founder identified a critical need for integrated services that:
-
Address social-emotional and behavioral needs early
-
Reduce barriers to care for families
-
Strengthen caregiver capacity alongside child development
Bloom Foundation was designed to complement—not replace—existing school and community systems by providing structured programming that reinforces emotional wellness, resilience, and family engagement.
Program Model & Service Delivery
Bloom Foundation utilizes a two-generation, prevention-focused model that supports children and caregivers simultaneously. Programs are delivered through formal partnerships with schools, community organizations, and family-serving agencies.
Our approach integrates:
-
Social-emotional learning and skill development
-
Trauma-informed and strengths-based practices
-
Creative expression as a regulated and therapeutic tool
-
Family engagement strategies that promote consistency and sustainability
Programs are designed to improve emotional regulation, communication skills, academic readiness, and caregiver engagement, with the long-term goal of strengthening family systems and reducing adverse outcomes for youth.
Community Impact
Bloom Foundation partners with schools, families, and community organizations to deliver services that promote protective factors for children and reduce risk factors associated with academic disengagement, behavioral concerns, and unmet mental health needs.
Our work prioritizes:
-
Early intervention and prevention
-
Family-centered engagement
-
Equitable access to supportive services
Through sponsorships, grants, and partnerships, Bloom Foundation expands access to care and programming for children and families who may otherwise go unserved. Bloom Foundation programs are designed to support improved emotional regulation, increased caregiver engagement, and strengthened protective factors for children and families.
